Following the completion of his Diploma of Farm Management at Orange Agricultural College, Mick worked for several years in the Moree district on a irrigated cotton property. He turned his attention to Financial Markets, trading futures and options portfolios in interest rates, currencies and commodities for banks, as well as trading on his own account over a period of 18 years.

In 2004 he and his family moved to Armidale where he developed MarketSmart Commodity Management (MSCM), to provide independent price risk management and grain brokerage services for large farming operations. Mick is licensed to provide advice on Swaps, Options and Futures, holds a Diploma of Financial Services, and the extensive experience required to obtain a Financial Services Licence.

In 2010 MSCM joined Delta Agribusiness to expand, and provide more comprehensive services to his current clients and Delta Agribusiness clients.
