In exciting news, the Delta Agribusiness leadership team has been heightened with the appointment of former Nufarm Ltd managing director Doug Rathbone, who has joined the Board of Directors.
Mr Rathbone is a well-known and highly respected industry entrepreneur, having led crop protection giant Nufarm from a small domestic business to become a globally significant player, over a career that spanned 41 years, with 15 years of those at the helm.
Delta Ag continues to be a rising force in the farm inputs, advisory, ag tech, and commodity marketing sectors, having delivered exceptional growth across NSW in its 11 years since inception. Delta Ag has been able to achieve a compound average annual growth of over 30 per cent over that period, growing from two initial outlets in 2006, to now 28 locations and 230 people across its network.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Doug to our board, and can see the tremendous value he can add with his vast experience, business credibility and wide industry knowledge and contacts,” Delta Ag Managing Director Gerard Hines said.
“Doug brings a fresh set of eyes and new ideas at a defining stage of our evolution. At Delta we are positioning for our next wave of growth, and where we can add additional value to our clients’ businesses. Doug is an excellent addition to our team to bolster our experience across all facets of our business, but particularly with his deep industry experience in strategy, mergers and acquisitions, procurement and supply chain, as well as capital structures and business integration, to further complement our long-term management team.”
When commenting on his new position, Mr Rathbone said he is looking forward to being involved in the further development of the Delta Ag company.
“I am very pleased to have the opportunity to work closely with the board and the Delta team at this exciting stage of its development,” he said.
Delta Ag Chairman Nick Burton Taylor also commented on the appointment. “Doug is a true leader in our industry and has demonstrated over many years his vision and innovative ability to create exceptional value for all stakeholders on a domestic and global scale. We are thrilled that Doug has accepted this position and very much look forward to working with him as we navigate our exciting future opportunities.”
Mr Rathbone will also take up the opportunity to invest in Delta Agribusiness on the back of his appointment.
