Herbicide resistance costs the grains industry hundreds of millions of dollars annually. Something needs to change.
That’s why Australia’s agricultural sector has united to establish WeedSmart, an industry-led initiative to enhance on-farm practices and promote the long term sustainability of herbicide use.
Research partners, commercial organisations, Government, advisors and growers have joined forces to ensure weed management is at the forefront of global farming practice. The WeedSmart Advisory Committee draws on broad industry support to bring you leading tools and information.
Sustainable herbicide use will secure the viability of the Australian agricultural sector.
Delta Agribusiness are proud to be a long term sponsor of WeedSmart, our commitment and contribution to this initiative provides solutions to advisors and growers about farming systems to grow more crop, with fewer weeds.

The role Group G herbicides are playing in farming systems
Today on the podcast we’re focusing on the use of pre-emergent herbicides and knockdowns, with a special focus on group Gs.
Associate Professor Dr Chris Preston from the University of Adelaide joins us to talk about how Group G herbicides fit into farming systems and what role they are playing as an increasingly popular tool to control weeds.
We’ll also be catching up with Delta Ag Farm Consultant, Tim Condon. Tim provides an overview of where the season is at, with a focus on the Southern region, including knockdowns and pre-emergent herbicides. Tim runs through some practical tips on using Group G herbicides and also touches on controlling weeds along fencelines.
